Just My Luck ;)

Well it was bound to happen, things were just going way too well. My job is so so great, we start building our house December 8th!

It was just a normal day I was commuting to work in Michael's car (because he was driving mine to Las Vegas for a Jui Jitsu tournament) everything was going well and I had just got off the interstate and was going to drop Aidan at my parents before work, and as I'm driving the temp. Gage start rising into the red zone, so I pull over (call my father and let him know what's happening) let it cool down, and started heading to my parents. I had to pull over and let it cool down a total of 3 times, and all the while my heater had stopped working. And my father graciously gave me a ride to work (I was only 15 min late thank goodness! I absolutley hate being late). My mother picked me up and my dad fixed my car while I was working, he said he thought the coolant just had an air bubble, so he filled up the coolant and put water in my radiator. So I started driving my car home and it happened AGAIN!!! So I had to head back to my parent's (pulling over 3 times to let the car cool down).

So I borrowed my sister Tiffany's pickup. And headed home for the second time that night. Well everything went fine. Aidan really loved it, he held my hand the whole way home and sang along to the radio (he's so cute). So anyway the story still continues . . . The next morning Aidan and I decide to go the grocery store to get a few things and while on the interstate on the bridge going over the Snake River, I BLOW A TIRE. On the bridge, I totally shredded a tire, I went from 65 to 25 and slowly tried to get off the bridge so I could pull over to the side of the road to change the tire. I go to change the tire and there isn't a spare anywhere to be seen. So I call my father talk to him about the situation and decide to call Les Schwab. After waiting 1 hour in the cold, the Les Schwab guy comes and puts on a spare and we go to the store to get a new tire.

Hopefully nothing else happens. I don't think I'd appreciate it. At least Aidan and I didn't get hurt in the process, a little cold, but not hurt. Wish me better luck :)

Best Week EVER!!!! ;)

Well I have officially been transfered to my new store, and I absolutly love it here. The customers say please and thank you, and my bosses are appreciative and fun (a far cry from the other guys at the old store). The only somewhat bad thing is I cannot get the commute thing down. . . I just spaz out and leave too early and end up twenty to forty minutes early most days. Oh well I'll get it down one of these days. Overall I love it here! I'm so happy that I made this decision.

This pharmacy knows how to have fun there is always some joke being pulled. . Like prank calling other pharmacys pretending to be crazy customers, or putting stickers on the pharmacist back where he can't reach (they just think I'm patting them on the back)

Well I just thoght I'd let you guys know how things are going. I need to get back to work.

People and Work (part 2)

I think I shall address the question posted by Caity, she asked which one am I? Here they are:
The "teachers pet"- or favorite, I'm not intentionally the favorite but I've been there the longest, I know the likes and dislikes of the pharmacist, and I just go with the flow. It has its benefits though, like if your bosses like you there going to push for raises, push for vacay, and get you the days off you want (sometimes).

The "let people walk all over you"- or pushover. The one who lets people yell at them for something they didn't do, the one who just takes it. It may be a good quality in the customer service field, but in the real world it just plain sucks. Can't you just stick up for yourself! Don't let them yell at you. (There are a few of us back in the pharmacy with this trait)
The "problem fixer"- peacekeeper, the one who just tries to make everything better. This ones kind of self explainatory.

There most likely are some negative ones for me, but I don't know what they are, maybe I'm biased. As far as I'm concerned, I go to work, I try my best and I work hard. And hopefully that's enough.
And I think I deserve a raise (if any of my bosses are reading this wink, wink)

Work and People

In every workplace weather it be a pharmacy (like mine) or a cubicle filled office. I'm sure there are people that fit the outline as follows;
The "know it all"- cannot be show or taught anything because they know it all ready. They always answer with "oh I knew that!" even though you know they claerly and completely didn't.
The "I have no concept of personal space"- they are ALWAYS too close for comfort welded right next to you, and sometimes are a little smelly (wether it be morning breath, or had something containing garlic for lunch). You scoot and they follow always touching somehow, looking over your shoulder as you type on the computer or helping a customer at the counter.
The "sneak"- they make mistakes and hope that no one notices, or when a mistake is found out they find a way to bypass the boss, or blame it one someone else (usually me or the new girl)
The "one that can't catch on"- you show them something about ten or more times and they still call you over 2 seconds later to be shown again. Or its some elaborate plan to remain lazy and just let other people pick up the slack for them.
The "I'm better that you"- and they let you know it! They tell you how much more experience they have than you. They want you to do it their way, because somehow your way is not good enough (but has been working just fine for you for the last 3 years!). And they they really aren't better that you, they just are egotistical (spelling) pieces of poo. They also think that they are some how that they're your boss even though the were hired at the same position you hold! And have only been there for less than 3 months, as opposed to your 3 years!
The "lazy one"- this one speaks pretty much for itself. The one who leaves the work for you, because they just didn't feel like it. The one who covers your lunch break, and the nice clean caught up workplace you left has disappeared in the 30 minutes while you ate.
The "I know but. . ."- the one who gives you a complement but there is always a BUT attached. Your sick but yet they insist that they're worse off (always have a story to top off yours).

There are so many more that I could explain but I'm to tired to type them out. These people also can be combined. For instance I have a "I know but", "I'm better than you", "know it all","sneak" combo. MAN I really dislike that person!!!! I just try to ignore them but sometimes it cannot be done.

Well I think I feel a little better after that ventage session ;)

A Update for everyone!

We'll I'm officially going to get transfered to the store I've been trying to get to for 3 almost 4 months now! My first day is going to be November 5th. I'm very excited ! And then on top of that. . . We're going to start building our house at the end of this month (well we'll be breaking ground, and the start building in November)!!!!

I'm also a little nervous about the new store. New doc's signatures and handwriting to learn. New places for drugs , to find. And new PEOPLE. It will be ok. And then along with that I'll be building a house. Goodness do I know how to do all the streesful stuff at once in my life or what?!

You know what I did today? I'm such a space case. I was supposed to leave at 3 pm today but I was at work till 5 pm. I thought I worked till 5!!! I went into the back room to get my coat and looked at the schedule and it said. Katrina 9-3!!!!! I'm soooo done.

I better get going. . . I don't know what it is with aidan and throwing that nerfball at my head whenever I write a blog ;)

Oh Goodness. . . I'm obsessed!

Thanks to the help from my good friend Adelyn, I'm am currently officially addicted to the TWILIGHT series by Stephanie Meyer. So far she has 3 books published and a forth coming out fall 2008. I've read all the books twice and I love them! They are so good.

I've also been sick, so sick infact, that I haven't went to work in 3 days. Michael actually was like "are you sure your not just staying home to read those books?" After a dirty look and me puking he didn't think I was faking anymore.

They're planning on making a movie for twilight! And she's working on a book called MIDNIGHT SUN that's in Edward's perspective of the first book. But that won't be out for several years :(

See . . . I'm clearly obsessed! And I'm not faking an illness to stay at home to read them. I better go, Aidan is getting annoyed with me and is throwing a nerf ball at my head for attention (silly boy).

Aidan and his all time favorite movie!

Aidan who is two and a half, for those of you who don't know. Has a favorite movie. . . A cinderella story with hilary duff and chad michael murry. That pre teen flick. He asks to watch it everyday, he knows the names of almost all the characters, and he narates the movie as he watches. His favorite part is when prince charming shows up named austin aims. Aidan goes "there's austin aims, austin's here". I think one of the reasons he likes the movie so much is because cinderella's name is samantha (sam). Which is the name of one of his favorite people. . . Adelyn's daughter sam! Of course.

Speaking of the movie we're watching it right this moment. My son is so silly. He's saying " stop that you're missing it! Its good, its a good movie"

the past 3 days. . .

For the past 3 days I have been working on an insurance problem, for one of our customers. If I haven't been helping customers, the phone has been jammed between my shoulder and ear, trying to convince medicare that they're system is wrong. They say that this patients insurance is medicare as primary, but when I bill it it says that it's secondary and I need to bill the other insurance. There is no other insurance!!!! After talking to 7 different medicare agency's and 2 conference calls with the customer and medicare. Medicare told her to go to another pharmacy cause we're billing ir wrong. So they went to walmart. And wally world got the same rejection!!! Well the customer came back to us to fill them. And payed $500 until we can get this mess straigtened out.

There is a good part to this story when she came to pick them up she brought me flowers, chocolate and a card telling me how thankful she was for my efforts :)

You know sometimes this job may suck but it's times like this that make it worth while.

a day off

After working 46 hours in four days I finally got a day off!! It was nice I got to go see some of my friends and I got to go out to eat with aidan and michael. I'm glad I got one, I really needed it ;)

Aidan is all into talking with complete sentances. And he likes to pretend . . . Like right now he has a wand (a wooded chopstick) and he's waiving it around and pointing it at me saying "you know something". I have no idea where he got that. He also likes to crawl around and pretend he's a cat named fred. He's so fun, I must admit I'm never without entertainment between aidan and michael.

I think I should go aidan is getting a little impatient.

Some more work stuff. . .

Are you ready for this . . . I hope you are. Today our pharmacist didn't show up, no phone call, no warning, nothing! So I spent a 10 hour shift answering phone calls and telling angry customer that the pharmacy wasn't open. "But I need my vicodin!!!" I'm going to sue you guys" or the ever popular "but can't you open the pharmacy". No I can't open the pharmacy, I don't have alarm codes or the keys to open it. I also have no idea what you perscription is going to cost!

Ok I feel better now that I vented a little. Man you had it easy I could of went on a lot longer but I'm to tired. I also have to show up an hour early for my shift which means I'll be working eleven hours tommorrow:( I'm really not looking forward to it. And on top of all that FH is gone she transfered to another store far far away! Man work sucks right now.

The Drug That Shall Not Be Named

I almost forgot to write a bout this crazy customer! We had this new guy come in wanting to transfer all his meds from another pharmacy to us, which is fine , but he kept them is a small safe and he had to key in the password to get his perscription bottles out. Lol! Then as I'm writing down the millions of perscription numbers he has he pulls out this one bottle out of the safe, and makes sure that no one but me can see what it is(valtrex-a herpes med). And he says all psycho like "If I ever, I mean ever hear my name and this drug in the same sentance I will SUE YOU, I'll write down whoevers name it is who said it and I will sue them" so I said even if you call me and tell me to fill you meds I cannot say this name even when it's just you and me on the phone?
"Nope I'll sue you"
So what should should I call it?
"I don't know just don't say it"
How am I not going to say it? I need to know what it is!

This little ridiculous discussion went on for ever he just didn't get it. How am I going to get the whole pharmacy staff not to say the name of this drug, especially when I have pharmacists coming in and out of the pharmacy everyday!
I had the weirdo talk to the pharmacist about his issue and he told him that it was impossible to promise not to say that. And we cannot agree to anything like that but we'd try our best to be descreet.

So I guess it must be known as the drug that shall not be named.

September cannot come soon enough

Oh this is so nice . . . We finally have a pharmacist that has a work ethic and knows what he's doing, we'll call him Mr. R. Its soooooo nice to go to work and actually be able to get the rx's ready when promised and Mr. R actually answers the phone and helps the customers and tell them about the meds. The other pharmacist we had didn't do A
THING! Seriously he didn't know what he was doing on the computer, he didn't know about half the drugs he was dispensing. So after that idiot, it makes me appreciate mr. R so much more. He's really good he has a knee that he's had surgery on so he hobbles around a bit but even with his knee he's quick!

And today I found out that they're going to start me on the meridian store the first week of september!!! Oh goodness its so nice that things are working out. It will be hard working in a new place but it will be less stressful and I'm sure a lot more fun of course FH will not be there but I guess we can't work together forever, and we'll still keep in touch.

I need to sleep now goodnight

just thought you should know

To those of you who read this little blog of mine, the next couple of weeks are going to be filled with me complaining about work. Ok?

If that's not ok stop reading right now . . .

Right now we are short one pharmacist with no prospects of a new one coming in and the other pharmacist is on a 3 week vacay. Not a fun work enviroment. And I'm a little annoyed a bout another pharmacy in idaho that says I have a job as soon as the other tech leaves. . . But they don't know when she's leaving. And my store says they have to find my replacement be fore I leave. So I have no idea of what time line I'm looking at. I just want out of the pharmacy I'm at now it's under staffed and too busy. And I swear we have the all the weird customers in the valley (including a certain dr.'s husband who keeps asking me out on dates and telling me how beautiful I am. I'm not lying here! Maybe he's a borderline stalker. You never know!)

But there is one good thing about work. . . It's my co worker! Well call her FH. If your reading this FH your a life saver. Work would not be bearable without you!

Well just thought you guys should know. Thanks for listening/reading ;)

Little Things That Make My Day

There are so many fun little things that can just make my day. Like after getting up and ready for the day, I walk out of the bathroom and Aidan is standing there waiting and says "mommy looks so cute!" with the sweetess little smile on his face.

Or when I turn on the radio while in the kitchen and michael comes in and dances with me, then aidan wondering where his parents have gone comes in and demands to take part in the dance, ending up with all three of us dancing together in the kitchen.

After I come home from work Aidan and I pick a movie and just cuddle. Aidan also while cuddling just gives me loves and kisses and tells me about his day.

And today Aidan told me "please no work today. . . Stay home. . . Cuddle me please" . Before I left for work.

I love my family. I love all of our little moments together.

Why I Love My Hubby

Adelyn I'm borrowing this idea frome you :)

1 He usually knows how to make everything better.

2 He's a great kisser (the kind that can make your spine tingle and toe curl)

3 He's a wonderful husband always working hard to provide for his family.

4 He says I love you everyday. Not to mention he also says I'm hot, beautiful, or sexy daily too.

5 He calls me from work just to talk.

6 He's so patient and kind to Aidan. He absolutley loves being a dad.

7 He rubs my back and cuddles with me until I fall asleep.

8 He reminds to stop chewing my fingernails.

9 He has taught me in the last 4 years of our marriage how to loosen up and let thing go.

10 He loves me as much as I love him and he may even love me more.

11 He has saved my life on countless occassions (when my blood sugar drops to were it's not supposed to be)

I have so many more but I should probably sleep.

arrrrgh! pure frustration!

Today was so not fun... first today was my day off, and work called me in. They called me in after working 2 twelve hour days and one eleven hour day in a row. And yesterday was a day of hell first our pharmacist didn't show up until 2 pm (we normally open at 9am). He didn't even know how to work the computer he seriously came in and said " so do I just sit here and watch you girls fill the prescriptions" NO!!!!! You cannot sit on your butt all day. It took him litarlly an hour to sign in to the computer and we cannot finish rxs without his final check on the computer.

Sorry to who ever is reading this I'm just venting.

Next it normaly takes us at the most 20-30 minutes to do a rx but it took us 1 1\2 - 2 hours!!! And most of the customers did not take it very we'll , we told them it would take about an hour and a half , but they would show up like 20 min. Later and demand why it wasn't done yet!!! It was because we had a twit for a pharmacist!!!

Ok I think I'm cooled off now that I out there.
